My path has crossed cultures, industries and some of Africa's most demanding operating environments. Across each chapter, the lesson has been consistent: read the terrain, remain composed and build capabilities that endure when conditions change. That progression led to StormShadow.
Forged by foresight
Before war erupted, my parents moved to southern Spain and sent me, at eleven, to boarding school in Switzerland. That early departure built adaptability and self-reliance, later reinforced by studies in the US and South Africa, and sparked a lifelong focus on military history—preparedness, deterrence, and defending the vulnerable. Discovering Zen Buddhism in North Carolina also opened an enduring path of personal growth. Both experiences shaped my character.
Sovereignty, engineered
Displacement, work across nearly 30 African countries, the pandemic, geopolitical fracture and accelerating AI confirmed a lesson my parents acted on before war reached home: dependence is risk. Three years went into designing and building StormShadow—an independently owned platform engineered to launch, command and scale fleets of autonomous trading bots, cutting reliance on geography, active income and constant human interaction.
Initiative under uncertainty
Self-reliance drew me to entrepreneurship during postgraduate studies, leading to ventures in premium wooden crates, network marketing, community resilience and franchise-ready security e-commerce. I also built a 900-member Entrepreneurs’ Circle spanning every continent. Together, these pursuits sharpened my grasp of sales psychology and the emotional intelligence required to navigate uncertainty.
From study to operations
On recommendation, I was invited into Africa’s largest privately owned aerospace and defence group. Decades of military study became professional practice and, in time, senior executive responsibility—supporting sovereign states and peacekeeping forces in managing risk across land, air and sea. A soldier at heart, I am at ease among officers, in camps and on air bases—familiar ground defined by discipline, purpose and command.
Execution across borders
Spanish fluency turned a chance meeting with the chairman of a major energy group at a wedding in southern France into mentorship and entry into large-scale African projects. Confronted with engineering and project complexity beyond my background, I earned PRINCE2 and PMP certifications. Combined with extensive experience across SADC, these led to my promotion to East Africa Regional Manager.
LEAN INTO THE TURN
AI, automation and robotics are outpacing institutions, labour markets and income models. Conflict across strategic, resource-rich regions is redrawing the global order. Before we know it, the familiar world will be difficult to recognise. Adaptation is not optional. Within that upheaval lies leverage. Capabilities barely imaginable only a few years ago are literally at our fingertips—offering not withdrawal from the world, but the freedom to decide how and when we engage with it. Leaning into the turn offers more than survival: the potential to chart the unknown.
